A new Salesperson for Ancientwood Arrives with the Summer Weather

We are finally getting some of the summer warmth we long for up here in Northern Wisconsin. The piles of Ancient Kauri are breathing a sigh of relief as the temps outside are getting closer to what it grew up in!

Drew Butler, an old friend of ours from Denver, is joining Ancientwood's sales team. We are trying hard to keep our customers happy and to find new people to get them interested in this beautiful Ancient Kauri wood. Drew has a long history of woodworking, and with a business degree has worked in sales before. His great sense of humor is welcomed, as is his new perspectives on our approach to finding new customers and helping us to look after our old friends, too. He will be focusing on the Colorado area first, so if this is your address is there you are likely to see or hear from Drew soon.

If you would like to contact Drew, send an email to abutler@ancientwood.com.

While the benefits of being so far north are sometimes hard to find, this time of year as we see heat waves come across the southern US, we generally feel quite happy to be way up here. We have Lake Superior to keep us cool as these days warm up... and believe me- you know when you've gotten into Lake Superior!

I hear on the marine weather radio this morning that the sea surface temp out in the middle of the lake is 39 degrees F. Certainly the water at our swimming beaches is warmer then that, but when the wind blows off the lake you can sure tell we have a big refrigerator next to us!

The other day I set up a workbench on sawhorses outside to work in the sunshine for a while. I was enjoying the hot sun which was cooking the sanding dust onto my skin, and I was wondering if I would work outside if I lived in a place that had warm weather all the time. Do any of you make a point to move outside when you have the chance and the weather is fine?

Here is to hoping you can stay cool and enjoy the early summer- talk to you soon.
