A GREAT INVESTMENT IN A GREEN PRODUCTAncient Kauri is not only beautiful and inspiring, but has an appreciating value due in part to it's rarity. After all, there is no question that this supply of 50,000-year-old wood is the last of its kind in the world! An owner of Ancient Kauri is also a steward of this amazing and beautiful material. Ancientwood is very proud that the harvesting process of Kauri involves no clear cutting, no destruction of habitats, and only temporary removal of vegetation occurs. We accept the fact that a new car depreciates the moment you drive it from the lot; or a mass-produced product begins to lose value the moment you begin to use it. However, an Ancient Kauri product increases in value the moment it is created. Once put into use, there is a confirmation that the Ancient Kauri wood will be well preserved for lifetimes of use. Whether by the owner, or sold over and over again as time marches on, there is not one step along the way that it will lessen it’s value. Consumers today are looking for value and quality in their purchases. Values such as longevity, usefulness, craftsmanship, beauty, form and function are sought out in today’s economy-driven world. Ancient Kauri is a great investment for any consumer, no matter your economic situation. |

RECENT VISITORSMaster Chairmaker Russ Filbeck was here in June as he journeyed back to San Diego, CA with his traveling companion, Ed Paradise. The two had been buying green wood on the east coast from Russ's long-time suppliers that will be used in his traditional chairmakeing classes this year at Polomar College. We were fortunate enough to have Russ and Ed with us overnight, and he selected some outstanding Ancient Kauri wood for use in two rocking chairs he will be making this year. Russ and Ed had a great time going through the stacks of Ancient Kauri with our Shop Foreman, Stuart. Nothing like having your own pick of the pile! Russ brought along the sad news of Sam Maloof’s passing; and he encouraged us to not only mourn the passing of this generous man, but also celebrate the life of a guy that was so giving. I will have to make a future blog about the story of my meeting Sam, and the incredible afternoon I spent meeting his "boys", some of his family, and the awesome tour through his wood sheds with him. Be sure to watch our blog: /blog In the past few weeks visitors have come from Texas, Kansas, Pennsylvania and Iowa. |
